American Railcar Industries expands Arkansas manufacturing facility

American Railcar Industries Inc., a manufacturer of hopper and tank railcars, has announced plans to invest $10.5 million in buildings and equipment at its facility in Marmaduke, Ark., and hire up to 75 new full-time employees.

The expansion will allow the company to retrofit tank railcars to meet stricter safety standards imposed by the final regulations related to tank railcars in flammable service released by the U.S. and Canada earlier this year.
