Arcam acquires strategic partner DiSanto Technology

Arcam, a provider of 3-D printing technology for metals based in Mölndal, Sweden, has acquired its strategic partner DiSanto Technology, Shelton, Conn., a contract manufacturer of orthopedic implants.

According to Arcam, the combination of its EBM® (electron beam melting) technology and DiSanto’s experience in orthopedic implant manufacturing will accelerate the implant industry’s adoption of additive manufacturing.

DiSanto’s production facility employs about 100 people. The company will become a subsidiary of Arcam and continue operating with the existing management team.
