Arcam delivers 3-D printer to Alcoa facility in Texas

Mölndal, Sweden-based Arcam has delivered a Q20plus 3-D printer to Alcoa’s Austin, Texas, facility. Alcoa will use the machine—Arcam’s largest, fastest 3-D printer—to help meet increasing demand for complex 3-D parts for aerospace.

The unit prints parts directly from a 3-D computer model by melting and fusing layers of fine metal powder with an electron beam. It offers fast build speed and a large build envelope for printing big components and enabling stacking of smaller components.
