Automated Precision’s Services Division expands in Virginia

Automated Precision Inc.’s Services Division has moved into a new building in Newport News, Va., that features 14,000 sq. ft. of office and calibration laboratory space.

The firm has performed calibrations for its laser trackers since 2012, but increased demand for Omnitrac 2 laser tracker models necessitated the additional capacity for service. The capacity of the old facility did not allow for concurrent contract metrology and product testing in parallel to the laser tracker calibration and repair activities.

The new facility also offers customer training, contract measurement services, laser scanning and modeling, and robot performance testing. The company provides calibration of customers’ multiaxis CNC machines and off-site process using volumetric error compensation.
