Cadence celebrates 30 years in business

Staunton, Va.-based Cadence Inc., a contract manufacturer serving the medical, life science, and industrial markets, marks 30 years in business in 2015. The company, originally founded as Specialty Blades in 1985 by engineer Martin Lightsey, was developed with the concept of combining CNC and razor blade sharpening technologies to serve companies that required high-performance, custom-made blades.

The company now employs nearly 500 people worldwide at locations in Virginia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and the Dominican Republic.
