Cannistraro to consolidate, relocate to Boston

Massachusetts-based mechanical construction firm J.C. Cannistraro LLC has announced plans to relocate and consolidate its manufacturing and warehousing operations from Wilmington, Watertown, and Stoughton to Boston’s Seaport District. The relocation is expected to be complete in September 2017. Corporate offices will remain in Watertown.

The firm has signed a 50-year ground lease on a 3.5-acre site with a two-story, 157,000-sq.-ft. building. The company will rehabilitate the property for use as a prefabrication and assembly plant for plumbing, fire protection, HVAC piping, and sheet metal systems for installation at construction sites throughout the region.

The move also enables Cannistraro to apply green building technologies, lean manufacturing principles, and modular building methods. A significant amount of flex space within the facility will be available for projects in collaboration with industry partners.
