Case IH expands Illinois plant

Case IH recently broke ground on an expansion of its Goodfield, Ill., plant, which manufactures tillage and fertilizer-application equipment. The 168,000-sq.-ft. expansion project, which will accommodate a new paint line, will increase the size of the plant by about two-thirds.

The paint line will be a multistage, auto-deposition primer dip system with a powder topcoat. The system will be based on a power- and free-conveyer system and provide a needed capacity increase. It also will almost completely eliminate VOCs. The plant will recycle all water used in the process.

The facility currently has about 650 employees, with openings in fabrication, welding, paint and assembly.
