CB&I to acquire Shaw Group

CB&I, The Woodlands, Texas, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Shaw Group, a FORTUNE 500® company primarily focused on serving clients in the power generation and government services sectors. The acquisition is expected to close in early 2013.

The new business sector created by this acquisition, to be named CB&I Shaw, will provide energy-focused technology, engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, maintenance, and associated services, employing nearly 50,000 employees at engineering and fabrication facilities on all continents.

CB&I engineers and constructs large energy infrastructure projects. The Shaw Group Inc. is a global provider of engineering, construction, technology, fabrication, remediation, and support services for clients in the energy, chemicals, environmental, infrastructure, and emergency-response industries.
