CNA Foundation donates $15,000 to NBT

The CNA Foundation, Chicago, today announced that it is donating $15,000 to Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT), the educational foundation of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Intl.® (FMA), Rockford, Ill., in support of its summer manufacturing camps. The mission of NBT is to engage, nurture, and excite individuals of all ages in the pursuit of careers within the manufacturing industry.

NBT sponsors an annual series of manufacturing summer camps dedicated to educating junior high and high school students on the benefits of a career in manufacturing. This summer campers will attend one of the 11 camps held on college campuses across the country, where they will learn specific manufacturing-related skills that will help them understand and appreciate the value of a career based on designing, planning, and constructing tangible products. Camps offer instruction in CAD, welding, robotics, and a variety of manufacturing technologies, as well as practical instruction in career management and ways to harness entrepreneurial initiative.

The CNA Foundation, the nonprofit, private charitable giving entity of CNA, provides funding to thousands of charities where it does business and where its employees live and work.
