Comau provides full line integration at new Airbus facility in Alabama

Comau, based in Turin, Italy, has acted as full line integrator for the new Airbus U.S. A320 manufacturing facility, which has officially opened in Mobile, Ala.

Comau, engaged in this project since its inception in 2013, provided all jigs and tools, as well as the aircraft main assembly and test stations for the plant. The assembly and test stations include the large steel fixtures that surround and hold the aircraft sections as they are assembled, allow the technicians to access the assemblies, and house the tooling and automatic drilling units used to put the aircraft together.
