Deere announces move of zero-turn mower production

Deere & Co. has announced it will move production of EZtrak™ zero-turn mowers from its factory in Horicon, Wis., to its facility in Greeneville, Tenn. According to the company, the move takes the production of the product line closer to its customer base and improves logistics for distribution.

The move does not reduce the number of core wage employees in Horicon but does reduce the number of seasonal employees that are hired during peak manufacturing at the facility. The move will result in an increase of manufacturing operations and distribution positions in Greeneville.

Production of the mowers will begin in Greeneville by October 2014.
