DeWys Mfg. adds rotary index laser cutting system

October 7, 2013

Metal fabricator DeWys Mfg. Inc., Marne, Mich., has installed an Amada FOM2 3015 NT RI rotary index laser cutting system for efficiently cutting mid to thick materials. The machine simplifies switching from flat sheet cutting to tube or pipe cutting.

Features include lens burn detection, cut process monitoring, auto-focus control, spatter-free piercing, and water-assist cutting.

The company also acquired an add-on AS 6510 automation tower that allows vertical material storage. It loads materials automatically into the laser with preprogrammed commands to work around the clock with limited operator intervention.
