D&S Manufacturing names general manager

Michael Dougherty, president of D&S Manufacturing, Black River Falls, Wis., has announced the promotion of John Barkley to General Manager.

Barkley is responsible for overseeing the achievement of the company's four core initiatives: process velocity, material utilization, labor productivity, and inventory turnover. This includes the management of production, sales and marketing, continuous improvement, and engineering functions through the development, coaching, and motivation of team members.

During his 14 year tenure with D&S, Barkley's contributions to the company include the management of quality, engineering, and sales. He also was responsible for the company's achievement of ISO certification. Before arriving at D&S, Barkley served as an engineering manager for a northern Michigan metal fabrication company. He is a graduate of DeVry Institute in Chicago.

D&S Manufacturing is a custom manufacturer of large scale components, assemblies, and complete weldments for corporations such as Caterpillar, Oshkosh Corp., Parkson, The Trane Co., and CNH.
