Endress+Hauser opens manufacturing plant in Indiana

Endress+Hauser has opened a new temperature instrument production facility in Greenwood, Ind. The 12,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing plant builds temperature sensors, thermowells, transmitters, recorders, flow computers, safety barriers, displays, and other instrumentation for customers in North and South America.

According to the company, sales of its temperature instruments in North America have increased by 40 percent so far in 2011. Annual North American sales are expected to exceed $550 million in 2012.

The new plant builds nearly all the components needed for the company's temperature instrumentation, using 100 percent traceability on all components and high-voltage testing of every finished product. The plant also houses a NIST-traceable temperature calibration laboratory.
