ET Seminar Committee names winner of Maurice H. Roberts Award of Excellence

The Maurice H. Roberts Award of Excellence has been presented to current ET Seminar Committee Chairman Craig Werner. The award, the highest honor bestowed by the ET Seminar Committee, Wauconda, Ill., is given to an aluminum extrusion industry professional who has demonstrated outstanding qualities that contribute to the advancement of the industry. Those traits include the individual making an industry impact, being a benevolent teacher, making a personal contribution, being a highly qualified individual, and exhibiting leadership qualities.

Werner, a past chairman of the Aluminum Extruders Council and a chairman of a number of AEC committees, including the Business Excellence Committee, has authored many technical papers for past ET seminars and various publications that provide important best practices guidance to the extrusion industry. He also developed extensive academic outreach presentations that the Aluminum Extruders Council uses to this day; developed industry curriculum, including the AEC Process Optimization Workshop; and currently is helping to develop the AEC Academy continuing education program.

Werner made significant contributions to the industry’s knowledge base in the areas of extrusion technology, use of mathematical analysis to improve operations, and the development of solar technology employing aluminum extrusions.
