Fabricating facility offered for sale in South Carolina

Heavy fabricators have the opportunity to purchase a turnkey facility in Clarendon County, S.C. The building is equipped and tailored for a heavy manufacturing operation, and a skilled labor pool is ready to begin work immediately.

The building's current owner is ready to sell with equipment in place. Four heavy cranes cover almost the entire shop floor, and the ground-level building can handle heavy machinery. The building has 25 drive-in doors and a large paint booth to accommodate an 18-wheeler.

The building previously was used to make tanker trailers and would be appropriate for a variety of heavy fabrication or heavy welding operations.

"Companies locating here could get their facility up and running in one month or less, versus one year," said John Truluck, executive director of the Clarendon County Development Board. "Our work force has welders with various levels of certification. This facility employed tank welders, who have a higher skill set than most welders. Those folks are available and ready to work."

The 53,000-sq.-ft. building was built in 1992. It sits on a 29-acre site on I-95 in the Clarendon County Industrial Park. About 200 acres are available for expansion. The building is just over one hour from the Port of Charleston.
