Family-friendly event Feb. 27 lets kids explore science, engineering through displays, presentations

Illinois Institute of Technology, Wheaton, Ill., will hold its 32nd Annual Engineers Week Expo, “Engineers Make a World of Difference,” on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This free, interactive family event, geared toward children in kindergarten through 8th grade, gives children and adults the opportunity to experience and explore the many fields of science and engineering through displays and presentations, including:

  • Mr. Freeze of Fermilab Cryogenics show (free tickets available day of the event, on-site, while supplies last)
  • LEGO® skyscraper build
  • ZOOM® and Design Squad
  • Civil Air Patrol
  • DuPage Children’s Museum
  • ILCHIP (child identification program)
  • Wooden tower destruction
