Flex-N-Gate to open plant in Chicago

Flex-N-Gate, an auto parts manufacturer based in Urbana, Ill., has announced plans to open a facility in Chicago in 2019, creating about 300 jobs. The building, an existing 288,000-sq.-ft. warehouse, will be converted to manufacture bumpers, radiators, and hinges for automakers, including the nearby Ford Torrence Avenue plant. The company expects to invest at least $30 million into the facility.

The firm has 62 manufacturing facilities and nine product development centers, employing more than 23,000 people worldwide.
