FMA partners with WorkAmerica to help manufacturing employers find credentialed workers

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl. (FMA), Rockford, Ill., has announced a new partnership with WorkAmerica, an online recruiting platform designed for manufacturing employers searching for workers with the appropriate skill sets, training, and credentials. On the website at www.workamerica.co, job seekers create a profile and add their education, experience, and industry-recognized credentials they have earned. The website also can help candidates to generate a resumé based on their profile. Companies then can search the extensive database of prospective employees by location, experience, credential, or even a specific skill to recruit the ideal candidate.

Certified precision sheet metal operators (PSMO), participants in FMA’s metal fabrication training and certificate courses, and students enrolled in a manufacturing curriculum at an FMA Certified Education Center (CEC) member school are encouraged to request access to this free service.

According to Jim Warren, executive director of membership, education, and foundation for FMA, “Our members consistently tell us that their No. 1 concern for the future of their company is finding enough qualified employees with the right skills. Individuals who attend FMA’s training courses and certificate programs in metal fabrication have acquired the skills employers need and have earned the credentials to prove it. Our partnership with WorkAmerica will help our member companies to find and recruit the best employees from a listing of prequalified candidates and also help certificants to quickly land the perfect job.”

The partnership provides additional benefits to FMA member companies, including access to the WorkAmerica database and an exclusive 15 percent discount on its services.
