Ford to build $1.6 billion assembly plant in Mexico

Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., has announced plans to invest $1.6 billion to build an assembly plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2016. By 2020, the facility will create 2,800 jobs, the automaker reports. The plant will build small cars for export to the U.S. and other countries.
