Georgia Manufacturing Alliance tours high-tech manufacturing facilities across the state

The Georgia Manufacturing Alliance is conducting five plant tours throughout the state in June:

  • Peening Technologies Plant Tour (morning) - June 7 – Austell
    Attendees will see the latest technology in shot peening, abrasive blasting and surface enhancement services to the aerospace, automotive, power generation, medical, and oil and gas exploration industries.
  • KIA Motors Plant Tour (morning and afternoon) - June 13 - West Point
    Due to high demand this tour is open to Georgia Manufacturing Alliance members only. Tour attendees will see the Kia Sorento® and Kia Optima® produced from rolled metal all the way to the finished product using high-tech stamping, weld shop robotics, and assembly processes.
  • KRAIBURG Plant Tour (morning)- June 15 – Buford
    Kraiburg TPE is a global manufacturer of themoplastic elastomers and is a pioneer in TPE compounds used in the automotive, industrial, consumer, and strictly regulated medical sectors. Its production lines are processed by injection molding or extrusion.
  • Beaulieu Carpets Plant Tour (afternoon) - June 15 – Adairsville
    As the third largest carpet manufacturer in the U.S., Beaulieu USA produces a carpet tile with a high postconsumer recycled content that includes PET bottles and recycled glass.
  • Daniel Defense Plant Tour (afternoon)- June 23 - Black Creek
    Daniel Defense manufactures a variety of items related to firearms, including its own custom variants of the AR-15 rifle, advanced rail systems, custom upper receivers, and advanced barrels. The company supplies the U.S. Special Operations Command and the U.K.'s Ministry of Defense.
