J.L. Becker appoints Southeast sales rep

Heat-treating equipment manufacturer J.L. Becker, a Gasbarre Furnace Group company in Plymouth, Mich., has appointed Ray Monahan as its Southeast sales representative. His territory includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.

For the past 16 years, Monahan has served as president of Ionic Technologies Inc. in Greenville, S.C. In addition to the heat-treating industry, he has worked in the steel and metal industries as general manager for distribution and processing of heat-treatable materials. In January 2015, he started his own business—Heat Treating Equipment & Thermal Processing Solutions—where he serves as a consultant and manufacturing representative.

Monahan holds a degree in industrial technology from Rhode Island College and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He is a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
