JTEKT Corp. doubles size of South Carolina facility

JTEKT Corp., a producer of bearings, automotive steering systems, and all-wheel-drive couplings, has expanded its Koyo-brand bearing manufacturing facility in Richland County, S.C. The 250,000-sq.-ft. expansion, which provides the company with the capacity to manufacture automotive wheel bearing hubs for its growing U.S. customer base, is expected to create 175 new jobs in the next three years.

A $130 million investment for the company, the expansion doubles its size to more than 500,000 sq. ft. The company currently employs 225 at the plant.
