Judson A. Smith celebrates 50th anniversary

ATW Companies Inc., Warwick, R.I., a provider of custom-manufactured metal components and services, has announced that Judson A. Smith, its custom and precision tubing products subsidiary, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in business.

Judson Smith started the company in Boyertown, Pa., in 1961 with four employees. Initial products were coil forms and pointer tubing for analog meters used in electronics. Acquired by ATW in 1983, the company now employs 160 people working a three-shift operation in a 40,000-sq.-ft. facility. Products include custom metal tube fabrication and machined components for applications in the medical device, aerospace, automotive, and electronics markets.
