Kansas City Assembly plant comes online as second U.S. factory building 2015 Ford F-150

Ford has announced the start of production of the 2015 F-150® at Kansas City Assembly plant, which joins the Dearborn Truck plant in building the vehicle.

The light-duty pickup truck features a high-strength aluminum-alloy body. In addition to producing all F-150 models and cab configurations, the plant now produces the trucks for commercial fleet customers as well, featuring 8-ft. cargo boxes and heavy payload packages.

Combined, the two production facilities will make more than 700,000 of the pickups per year for availability in 90 markets globally.
