LG Chem adding workers at Chevy Volt battery plant site

LG Chem Michigan Inc., Holland, Mich., is adding production equipment and new processes and expects to employ several hundred people by the end of the year.

The facility manufactures large lithium-ion polymer batteries for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Chem, a South Korean company that has global operations focused on petrochemical products, information/electronic materials, and energy systems.
