Manitowoc Co. to move crawler crane manufacturing operations to Pennsylvania
The Manitowoc Co. Inc. will relocate its crawler crane manufacturing operations from Manitowoc, Wis., to Shady Grove, Pa. The transition will begin in the Q3 2016, with completion anticipated by mid-2017.
The company expects this initiative to generate annualized pre-tax cost savings of $25 to $30 million.
The 300-acre Pennsylvania facility has been producing the crawler cranes since 2015, as well as rough-terrain cranes, truck cranes, boom trucks, industrial cranes, and lattice boom crawler cranes.
The company intends to keep product engineering and related support functions for the crawler business in the Manitowoc, Wis., area.
