Mayville Eng. Co. to purchase Center Mfg.

Mayville Eng. Co. Inc., Mayville, Wis., has acquired Center Mfg. Inc., a Michigan-based manufacturer of metal products for the commercial vehicle, power sports, agriculture, construction, automotive, and military industries. As a result of the acquisition, Center becomes a division of the MEC family of companies, which includes MEC Prototype & Service, MEC Contract, MEC Shotshell Reloaders, Fabricating Specialists, and Phoenix Coaters.

Center manufactures complex assemblies, large- and small-diameter tubes, fuel tanks, and fluid-level indicators at eight facilities in Michigan, Virginia, South Carolina, and Mississippi. MEC provides prototyping, production manufacturing, fabricating, tube forming, coating, and assembly services from eight facilities in Wisconsin.

Richard Nielsen remains president and CEO of Center Mfg. and is involved in integrating the two companies. All of Center’s 800 employees are expected to remain with the organization.
