Metal Seal Precision resumes production following plant fire

Metal Seal Precision Ltd., a manufacturer of precision metal components and subassemblies, has resumed production following a fire that destroyed a portion of its Mentor, Ohio, plant on July 25, 2014. The fire, which destroyed about one-third of the plant, caused more than $50 million in damage.

No one was injured in the fire. The firm has another plant in Mentor, where it has set up a temporary facility to enable production to continue while the main facility is being repaired.

All of the company’s full-time employees have returned to work on either a part-time or full-time basis. Employees who are not back to work full-time are being compensated by Metal Seal Precision at full salary, including benefits and any overtime they normally work.
