MHUB business collaboration launched in Chicago

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has announced the launch of MHUB, a collaboration among Chicago’s leaders in business, innovation, and research designed to benefit the manufacturing industry by generating ideas, attracting talent, and increasing productivity.

A joint effort of World Business Chicago and the MHUB board of directors, the center will open in late 2016 and offer Chicago’s product manufacturers access to facilities and support to develop and bring their products to market.

The 63,000-sq.-ft. facility is equipped with a 3-D printing lab, electronics labs, and metal shop. MHUB will partner with manufacturers, business accelerator programs, venture capitalists, engineering and product development consultants, universities, and providers of business services. Members and community participants will have access to these services at the facility.

Additionally, MHUB will offer educational programs, networking events, and workshops. Meeting space will be available to professional and neighborhood groups.
