Midbrook develops factory-for-hire concept

Midbrook Inc., a Jackson, Mich.-based manufacturer of custom metal fabrications and industrial parts washers, has announced the development of its factory-for-hire concept. The company will use its facility and employees to help customers design, modify, fabricate, and ship their parts and new-product ideas.

The company developed the concept to assist individuals who have ideas for products but lack the design and manufacturing capability to produce them. Customers can bring their ideas to Midbrook, and the company will work with them on developing their design and recommend improvements, such as making the product more cost-effective to produce. Midbrook can then supply the engineering needed to make the design complete and ready for manufacture.

When the engineering is complete, the company can create prototypes of the product as a final check of the design. When the product is ready to be produced, Midbrook will use its manufacturing space, equipment, and employees to begin manufacturing the product. The company also can provide part inspection, packaging, and shipping.
