Modine Mfg. to close Illinois manufacturing plant

Modine Mfg. Co., Racine, Wis., a diversified global provider of thermal management technology, has announced plans to close its manufacturing facility in McHenry, Ill. The closure is expected to affect about 135 full-time employees.

The company will transfer the McHenry production to facilities in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and Jefferson City, Mo. The McHenry plant makes parallel flow and serpentine condensers, oil coolers, and radiators for the automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, and building HVAC markets. Plans call for the plant to close over an approximate 18-month period.
