NAM names VP of government relations

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Washington, D.C., has appointed Joe Trauger as its new vice president of government relations. He leads the government relations team responsible for coordinating the NAM’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill.

Trauger previously served as the NAM’s vice president of human resources policy. In that position he advocated on behalf of manufacturers on a variety of human resources issues, including health care, immigration, education and training, workplace safety, and labor management.

Trauger spent more than a decade on Capitol Hill, where he served in multiple senior-level capacities, including principal health adviser in the House majority leader and majority whip offices. Trauger earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Minnesota State University – Mankato.
