NBT awards grants for 24 summer manufacturing camps

Rockford, Ill.-based Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT), the Foundation of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl. (FMA), has awarded $50,000 in grants to community and technical colleges nationwide that host summer manufacturing camps for students 12 to 16 years old. A complete listing of the camps, which will take place in 24 different cities, can be found at www.nutsandboltsfoundation.org/camps/.

The camps engage students with hands-on projects and learning that make STEM subjects come alive. Camps use steel, wood, and plastics to explore technologies like bending, CAD/CAM, CNC, cutting, lasers, welding, finishing, drilling, and shearing.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, NBT is able to award grants that assist colleges in getting these programs off the ground and encouraging local manufacturer support. To make a donation to the NBT camp grant program, visit www.nutsandboltsfoundation.org/donate/.
