PMA to host inaugural Women in Manufacturing Symposium

More than 150 women executives, managers, and supervisors will gather in Cleveland Oct. 25-26, 2011, for the first Women in Manufacturing Symposium, hosted by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA). The event, designed for women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry, will provide an opportunity for participants to share perspectives and network withcolleagues and female executives in the manufacturing sector.
Moira Forbes, vice president and publisher of ForbesWoman, a multimedia platform serving successful women in business and leadership, will deliver the keynote presentation, "Management Best Practices." Forbes also is the associate publisher of ForbesLife and the host of "Success With Moira Forbes," a weekly video series featuring candid, one-on-one interviewswith today's top women leaders.
The symposium also will feature panel discussions on manufacturing best practices and the importance of sponsoring and mentoring. Panelists include representatives from such manufacturers as Boeing, Ford Motor Co., General Motors, GE Appliances, and American Greetings.
Additional presentations are scheduled on the topics of attracting and retaining women in manufacturing, leadership principles, and communication strategies.
