Hypertherm, Schnitzer, Timken, and Kennametal named to World’s Most Ethical Company list

Hanover, N.H.-based Hypertherm, Portland, Ore.-based Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc., North Canton, Ohio-based Timken Co., and Pittsburgh-based Kennametal Inc. are four of the 131 companies named to the 2016 World’s Most Ethical Company® list by Ethisphere Institute.

The assessment for this designation is based on the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient™ (EQ) framework, which offers a quantitative way to assess a company’s performance. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies. Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program; corporate citizenship and responsibility; culture of ethics; governance; and leadership, innovation, and reputation.

Hypertherm, a manufacturer of plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting systems, has been named to the list two years in a row.

This is the second consecutive time that Schnitzer, a manufacturer and exporter of recycled metal products with facilities throughout North America, has earned the designation.

The Timken Co., a manufacturer of bearings, gear drives, belts, chain, and related products and provider of powertrain rebuild and repair services, has earned the designation for the sixth time.

For Kennametal, a provider of materials science, tooling, and wear-resistant technology to the aerospace, earthworks, energy, general engineering, and transportation industries, this is the fifth consecutive designation.
