Sioux Corp. wins presidential export award

Sioux Corp. of Beresford, S.D., was one of 21 companies honored by U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke in November as a recipient of the 2009 Presidential "E" and "E Star" Awards during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The "E" Award is the highest U.S. government recognition any U.S. entity may receive for developing export programs. It was created by former President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to recognize persons, firms, or organizations that contribute significantly to increasing U.S. exports.

The award program is managed by the International Trade Administration.

Sioux Corp. manufactures industrial pressure washers, steam cleaners, water/solution heaters, and steam generators for markets around the world. The company works with U.S. Dept. of Commerce offices around the world and has installed numerous programs to expand exports into North America, Latin America, Asia/Pacific, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
