Solar Atmospheres of California to expand

Solar Atmospheres of California Inc. (SCA) has announced plans to expand its Fontana, Calif., facility. The $5 million investment is part of a long-term corporate strategy to increase the firm’s West Coast development and commercial capacity.

The expansion will add 25,000 sq. ft. to the current 25,000-sq.-ft. facility and will introduce multiple vacuum furnaces manufactured by SCA sister company Solar Mfg. Inc., Souderton, Pa. In addition to vacuum processing, the company plans to install a South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD)-compliant cleaning line.

The expanded facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2016.
