Steel construction inspection seminars and Webinars scheduled for spring

The Steel Structures Technology Center has announced its schedule for seminars and Webinars on the inspection of steel building construction, welding, and bolting using International Building Code (IBC), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), and Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC) codes and standards. All seminars are conducted in cooperation with the International Code Council (ICC).

The seminars include:

• AISC 2010 Chapter N: Quality Control and Quality Assurance - San Francisco/Benicia, Calif., April 12; New York/Rockville Centre, N.Y., April 19; Los Angeles/Buena Park, Calif., April 26; and Las Vegas, Nev., May 18.
• Structural Steel and Bolting Inspection/Plan Reading for Steel Construction - San Francisco/Benicia, Calif., April 13; New York/Rockville Centre, N.Y., April 20; Los Angeles/Buena Park, Calif., April 27; Las Vegas, Nev., May 19.
• Structural Welding Inspection - San Francisco/Benicia, Calif., April 14; New York/Rockville Centre, N.Y., April 21; Los Angeles/Buena Park, Calif., April 28; Las Vegas, Nev., May 20.
• Inspection of Seismic Steel Frames - San Francisco/Benicia, Calif., April 15; Los Angeles/Buena Park, Calif., April 29.

These seminars also will also be offered as webinars in February. Eight-hour Webinars will be offered in two four-hour segments on consecutive days:

• Structural Steel and Bolting Inspection – Feb. 9 and 10, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. ESTPlan Reading for Steel Construction – Feb. 11, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST
• Structural Welding Inspection – Feb.16 and 17, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST
• AISC 2010 Chapter N: QC and QA, Feb. 23, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST
• Inspection of Seismic Steel Frames, Feb. 24 and 25, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST
