SUPERB Industries announces expansion, addition of 50 jobs

SUPERB™ Industries, Sugarcreek, Ohio, has been awarded a contract by Alevo Mfg., part of the Swistzerland-based Alevo SA Group, that will create at least 50 jobs and require a 12,000-sq.-ft. addition to the current facility.

The project, dubbed "Operation Moonshine" because some of the components being made resemble a whiskey flask, will result in the production of more than 5 million battery components in 2015. Production numbers will increase annually, reaching more than 100 million by 2019.

The expansion will be used to house two Bihler manufacturing lines that are integrated with laser welding, washing, and leak-testing equipment. As volume increases, eight additional lines will be added, along with additional square footage of manufacturing space.
