TE Connectivity to close manufacturing section of Minnesota plant

TE Connectivity has announced plans to close the manufacturing portion of its plant in Shakopee, Minn., between November 2012 and January 2013, retaining sales, marketing, finance, and engineering employees at the location.

The closing eliminates about 144 jobs as the manufacturing operation, which produces sheet metal, plastic injection molding, and connectors for fiber-optic cables, is moved to Mexico.
