The Manitowoc Co. announces plans to close Cleveland facility, California warehouse
The Manitowoc Co. Inc., Manitowoc, Wis., has announced its intention to move products currently manufactured at its Cleveland facility to other locations, along with an anticipated shutdown of this facility. These operational changes are part of a strategic initiative to address production overcapacity.
The Cleveland facility produces steamers, conveyor ovens, and mini combination ovens. The announced changes are in preparation for the eventual spinoff of the company’s Foodservice business in Q1 2016.
The company also expects to close its Irwindale, Calif., distribution warehouse.
