The Right Place supports creation of 171 local jobs in western Michigan

Regional economic development organization The Right Place Inc., The Ionia County Economic Alliance (ICEA), and its state and regional partners have announced three western Michigan economic development projects that will bring 171 new jobs and $6.8 million to the region.

AvaSure LLC will expand in Grand Rapids. The $1.9 million plant will manufacture medical devices that support the nursing profession in improving its practice environment. The expansion allows the company to decrease outsourcing and bring manufacturing operations in-house.

Steel 21 plans to build a 30,000-sq.-ft. facility in Algoma Township. The $4.5 million project is expected to bring 61 new jobs to the community over the next three years. The company uses steel plate processing equipment to create fast, efficient processing, cutting, and machining methods, the manufacturer reports.

Belding Tool & Machine, based in Belding, Mich., has announced plans to invest $405,000 in machinery upgrades over the next several years. The company provides precision tool and die details for all types of manufacturing industries.
