MagneGas Corp., Tampa, Fla., has announced that one of the five largest electric utilities in the U.S. has approved MagneGas2® fuel to replace acetylene at its power and repair facilities. After testing the fuel for more than a year, the utility found that the cut speed was faster than acetylene and the preheat time was shorter.

The utility also specified the safety aspects of the fuel and the lower environmental impact of using a fuel produced from a renewable source.
