Whirlpool to close Arkansas plant June 29
Whirlpool has announced that June 29 will be the official closing date for its Fort Smith, Ark., plant. The closure will eliminate 917 jobs. The company has been in Fort Smith for more than 45 years, employing more than 4,500 people in 2006.
