Wilton marks 75th anniversary

Vise manufacturer Wilton® marks its 75th anniversary in 2016. The company was founded in Chicago in 1941 by Hugh W. Vogl, who designed a 4-in. machinists’ vise shaped like a bullet. The vise’s enclosed design keeps lubrication in and contaminants out. The horizontal spindle nut creates an even central pull, which eliminates dead motion and unnatural strain on the nut.

Now located in La Vergne, Tenn., the company currently offers bench vises, machine vises, truck hitch vises, F-clamps, C-clamps, and striking tools.
