Eriez® adds robotic welding machine at Erie facility

Eriez, Erie, Pa., has purchased a robotic welding machine to help maintain accuracy while meeting increasing production volumes. Testing before the purchase showed that the unit can complete 90 percent of the company's vibratory trays.

The company's welding staff will continue to be responsible for welding jobs that require an extraordinary amount of skill and customization, while the robotic welding machine will handle standardized tasks.

"To be very clear, there is no downsizing planned at Eriez" said Tim Shuttleworth, president and CEO. "The purchase of the robotic welder helps prepare us for the next growth surge and makes us even more competitive on a global basis."

Eriez is a provider of magnetic lift and separation, metal detection, X-ray, materials feeding, screening, conveying, and controlling equipment.
