Solar Atmospheres names project engineer

Solar Atmospheres, a provider of commercial vacuum heat treating services in Souderton, Pa., has hired Dorran Schultz as a project engineer. He has more than 25 years of experience in R&D.

His initial assignment is to conduct a study of metal oxides and nitrides related to part surface color development. The objective of this study is to identify resultant colors numerically, which can be related to vacuum furnace residual atmosphere and used for diagnostic and analytical purposes.

Schultz holds a bachelor's degree in ceramic science engineering from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Lebanon Valley College.
