AAM makes changes to leadership team

Detroit-based American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. (AAM), a manufacturer of driveline and drivetrain systems and related components and modules, chassis systems, and metal formed products, has announced the appointment of two new officers.

Nigel Francis has been appointed vice president, corporate planning. He most recently served as senior automotive adviser to the state of Michigan and senior vice president, automotive industry office, Michigan Economic Development Corp. Francis has nearly 30 years of experience in the global automotive sector, encompassing both technical and technology management.

Jon R. Morrison has been appointed president, AAM North America (vice president, AAM Corporate). He comes to the company from Wabco Holdings Inc., where he most recently served as vice president vehicle dynamics and controls. In his 30-year career in the automotive industry, Morrison has held positions in finance, manufacturing, sales and marketing, engineering, and global customer relationship management.
