AP&T to host seminars on forming methods for automotive industry

AP&T will present Future Forming seminars at its American Tooling Center in Detroit on Sept. 16-17, 2015. The seminars will cover advanced forming methods and materials for the automotive industry and will explain how the global automotive industry’s need for lighter, stronger parts can be met in the short term and the long term. Materials such as press-hardened steel, aluminum, and composites will be highlighted.

Industry experts will describe the current situation, the rapid development of material and forming methods, and the opportunities that are presenting themselves for the future. Speakers include representatives from General Motors, CAR (Center for Automotive Research), and AP&T. In addition, Prof. Dr. Steinhoff and Agim Ademaj from the University of Kassel will talk about hot forming of steel in a presentation titled “Retaining Control of Complexity—Skills & Methods in Process Monitoring in Press Hardening Technology.”
